This fee covers an evaluation of the fault that is affecting access to your mobile phone stored data If your data is not encrypted and can be accessed by simple plug and play techniques this fee + the cost of return media + cost of secure return shipping is what you will pay. In difficult cases involving electronic component fault finding and remedial techniques including specialist cleaning then subject to your agreement to proceed you will be charged an additional £195 + VAT is charged contingent on success.
We do not guarantee that our recovery processes will restore your phone to a working state.
This depends on the amount of data recovered. We provide data on USB sticks and external hard drives.
If the device is badly damaged, data is destroyed or data is encrypted then we will advise you of the circumstances and we simply ask you to cover the return shipping fee and courier your phone or tablet back to you. Alternatively you can request our secure disposal service.
We aim to complete cases within 5-10 working days. A premium “Emergency Next Day” service is also available on request.
Absolutely, no data we recover or view will be disclosed, only our trained technicians ever interface with your data they are all under strict non-disclosure agreements (NDA’s). Datlabs is also registered with the ICO and complies with GDPR . A Non Disclosure Agreement can be prepared on request and for which a small administration charge may apply.
Typically we do not require the sim card from the phone, however most sim cards are used to store contacts and so may prove valuable if this is the type of data your are looking for. Please speak to our team if you are unsure.
Typically this isn’t our first priority and we don’t claim to be a mobile phone repair service provider, but sometimes as part of the recovery we may repair your device in order to access the data, however this may just be a short lived fix.
Our JTAG and Chip-Off recoveries will void the warranty, we can upon request provide you with a report detailing our procedures. It is our experience that most manufactures accept this report as a valid reason and uphold the warranty.
